Community Connections: Resident Engagement for Senior Housing Communities

Community Connections brings comfort, connection, and companionship to seniors in affordable housing. As Olive Tree grows, we reinvest a portion of our earnings into this outreach.

Brought to you by a rental assistance compliance specialist with 20+ years of HUD and NYC HPD experience, serving properties nationwide.

Year One

Our first year of visits begins in early 2027 with four quarterly visits, one senior housing property each quarter. Each visit brings one or two of the five activities below, labeled by quarter.

Engaged residents help a property run well, and a well-run property is easier to keep compliant.

Winter Coat Distribution

Planned for Q1 2027: distributing 25–50 winter coats to residents who need them.

Thanksgiving Meal

Planned for Q4 2027: sponsoring one Thanksgiving meal to bring residents together over a shared table.

Holiday Gift Bags

Planned for Q4 2027: small gifts distributed during the holidays, because being seen matters.

Tea Time

Planned for Q2 2027: an afternoon sit-down for conversation and company.

Movie Night

Planned for Q3 2027: one movie night using a portable projector for a shared afternoon together.

Olive Tree Housing & Services

Community Connections activities are designed to support resident engagement and quality of life. The program is not a healthcare, counseling, social work, emergency response, or medical service, and participation is voluntary.
